Our company understands the questions of quality as complex issues and a result of this is the programme of the company quality
policy with the aim of achieving maximum customer satisfaction with maximum efficiency along with high work productivity.
The company quality policy places the main emphasis on effective administration of all processes, on the quality of production and
the high level of the parameters of finished products. Production quality of mechanical and electronic components is constantly
monitored with the help of special precise measuring instruments, whilst fundamental mechanical components such as side plates,
print rollers, gear wheels and cam-and-lever mechanisms are subject to 100% checking on specialised measuring equipment, e.g.
SMS OPTON ZEISS, MAAG, D01, D02). The print parameters of finished products are certified according to standard methods and customized
procedures, particularly on the basis of monitoring methods FOGRA and GATF.

In the effort to classify our RAPIDA presses to the most advanced market segment, KBA-Grafitec evaluates qualitative parameters of the manufactured printing machines also from the point of view of the produced prints.
According to the FOGRA tests
There are three types of special testing printing forms defined for the purposes of a thorough testing of a press machine. All monitored parameters are defined with the aim to ensure their compliance with the needs of routine press operation in the production of high-quality prints matters. Press testing is divided into two basic groups. The first group includes testing of the press mechanical parameters, whereas the variables being monitored are feeding register and register between the printing units.
Testing device Luchs - quality and fast machine testing
Tests are evaluated by means of special diagnostic equipment named Luchs, which was purchased by KBA-Grafitec in order to ensure the top quality of RAPIDA presses. It is an industrial briefcase computer with a CCD scanning camera.
Until now a complex evaluation of one four-colour press took approximately eight hours. When using the Luchs testing equipment, this time was shortened to approximately 20 minutes. The Luchs device allows you to achieve a more precise evaluation, being higher by one order of magnitude. Where hundreds must have been sufficient before, today there is a measurement in thousands of millimetres available. Last, but not least, the Luchs equipment offers the option of executing an output report providing an unambiguous proof of achieving the required parameters. The report can be printed out and presented to the customer together with the delivered press. The output report is non-editable; therefore the possibility for any falsification of the achieved results on part of the operator is excluded.
Other parameters
The other group involves testing of the press printing parameters. The measured values include density, dotgain, double factor, decrease of ink in the printing direction and patterning. The last parameter being monitored concerns streaking in area.

Development
New products and their innovations, improvement of the parameters of machines and resolution of customers' orders are the areas in which our development department is engaged. The result of its activity is the complete technical preparation of a production of a machine. Contributions to this process are made by developmental and manufacturing construction, by proposing new machines and alterations thereto, the technology department, through the creation of technological procedures for manufacture of components and assembly, construction of preparations and tools, and the actual technological development department, where planning of tasks and priorities in resolution thereof takes place. The creative work of constructors and technologists is supported by modern computer technology and co-operation with research institutions and specialised departments within universities.
