Two more KBA Rapida 75 presses head to Brazil
KBA-Grafitec continues to establish itself on the rapidly expanding Brazilian market. In March of this year it supplied a four-colour KBA Rapida 75 printing press to the Corag print shop in Porte Alegro in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sol. The press met our customer's expectations so well that they immediately ordered another identical version of the Rapida 75-4. The second press is currently being installed.
"Throughout Brazil it is evident that the economy is developing rapidly, and that includes the printing industry," says Milan Bláha, who is responsible for KBA-Grafitec's sales on the Brazilian market. KBA-Grafitec supplied both printing presses in a version with a generous range of special features. The Brazilian printers obtained presses with automated format setting and a Kersten ioniser. Dealing with large orders is made easy by the non-stop feeder and delivery. The presses can communicate with pre-press through a CIP3 interface. Print professionals have remote control available from the KBA DensiTronic control console equipped with a Lithec densitometer. The printing presses are connected to a remote diagnostic system in KBA-Grafitec.
Corag (Companhia Riograndense de Artes Gráficas) is a state print shop specialising in printing official documents, public notices, and so on. An interesting part of its range of products are the documents required for announcing public tenders. On 30 September an open house was held in the Corag print shop. It was organised jointly by the Corag print shop, the company Global Systemas Gráficos (which represents the KBA brand name throughout the Brazilian market), and the Brazilian branch of the Böttcher company. The open house was attended by around sixty companies from Porto Alegre and the surrounding area who were potentially interested in KBA printing presses. The guests were welcomed by the director of the Corag print shop, Luciano Silva. Information about the new small-format printing presses that have been developed by KBA-Grafitec was provided by Robson Padua from the distributor Global Systemas Gráficos. Milan Bláha presented the KBA company and sketched out its extensive history.
The proud Gaucho horsemen are typical inhabitants of the southern part of Brazil. During the presentation of the KBA Rapida 75-4, some 2000 posters with this motif were printed. The picture was completed by the flag and a passage from the anthem of the Brazilian state Rio Grande do Sul and a photo of the KBA Rapida 75. Visitors to the Corag print shop had the opportunity to see the very short makeready time and high speed of the actual printing. KBA-Grafitec has supplied seven printing presses to Brazil this year. The open house confirmed the interest of Brazilian print shops in KBA small-format printing presses.
