Rapida 75C a magnet at the exhibition centre in Buenos Aires

The annual Argentina Gráfica trade fair was held this year in Buenos Aires from 18 to 23 October. KBA-Grafitec exhibited its four-colour printing press Rapida 75 C, there, and it became one of the magnets of the trade fair. The press that was demonstrated to South American print shops was a superior version for printing paper up to a thickness of 0.6 mm. The standard version prints on substrates with a thickness of up to 0.45 mm. The Rapida 75C-4 that was on display at the exhibition and subsequently for sale on the Argentine market was equipped with Grafix infrared drying. The configuration on display included control by means of a delivery touchscreen and an inspection table.

Presentations of the KBA Rapida 75C-4 were held every hour. Each time some 700 to 800 sheets were printed. The motifs on them included pictures of Prague, a map of the world, and photos of Argentine natural scenery. The exhibition was open for visitors every day from 2 p.m. till 9 p.m. The stands covered the area of two pavilions. All the major world brand names of offset printing press manufacturers were represented. This year there was tremendous interest in the Argentina Gráfica trade fair. Hundreds of people visited the stand exhibiting the KBA Rapida 75C-4 every day. Dozens of discussions with potential customers took place. The exhibition was visited by print professionals not only from Argentina, but also from Uruguay and Chile.

The printing press that was on display at the trade fair was subsequently sold to the Gráfica Argentina print shop in Buenos Aires. Gráfica Argentina, which coincidentally has a similar name to the Argentina Gráfica trade fair, specialises in commercial printing. The Rapida 75C is the first KBA press to be used by the print shop; previously they printed on Heidelberg presses.

KBA-Grafitec has been working with its Argentine dealer, the Electrografica company, for nineteen years. This year, two printing presses from KBA-Grafitec were sold to Argentine customers. The trade fair acted as a stimulus for creating new commercial contracts and preparing further contracts. In the words of Tomáš Vrana, sales representative for KBA-Grafitec responsible for the Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, "The Argentine economy is stabilised; the economic crisis did not have such a significant impact on it as it did in some other countries. KBA-Grafitec has a good chance of success, not only in Argentina, but in the whole of Latin America. During the coming few months four more presses will be sold to Argentine customers."
