Dobruška / This year's Embax Print will be welcoming print industry professionals and decisionmakers to the exhibition centre in Brno, Czech Republic, from 17th to 20th May. Koenig & Bauer will be represented at the biennial fair by its Czech subsidiary, Dobruška-based KBA-Grafitec, whose generous stand is to be found in Hall F.

Small-format sheetfed offset in all its facets

Visitors can look forward to modern sheetfed offset print in A3+ format on a compact KBA Genius 52 and a 46 Karat digital offset press, in A2 format on the Performa 66 and in B2 half-format on a KBA Performa 74. The presses are to be complemented by a CtP prepress from Presstek. Fitting attention will also be paid to the Rapida sheetfed offset models and the broad range of web offset presses from KBA. Both Czech experts and specialists from the German manufacturing facilities will be on hand for discussions on the KBA-Grafitec stand and on the stand of the highly successful Czech KBA agency Kloc spol. in the same hall.

Premiere for the KBA Performas

The sheetfed offset presses of the Performa series, which are to be presented in their new KBA design for the first time at the fair, are especially interesting for smaller and medium-size businesses active in classic multicolour commercial printing. The Performa 66 (format 48.5 x 66 cm) is to be shown in action in a five‑colour configuration. For the B2 format, on the other hand, KBA-Grafitec has chosen a six-colour version of the Performa 74. The exhibition press is equipped additionally with a coating unit and an extended delivery accommodating a combined IR/hot-air dryer. It will be printing posters on paper and postcards on a 240 gsm light card.

High-quality waterless print on the Genius 52

For printers using the widely popular 36 x 52 cm sheet format, the compact KBA Genius 52 is set to be the fair highlight. This press stands out through its high print quality and the exceptionally low wastage of a waterless offset process based on keyless inking units. It is available in four and five‑colour versions and boasts a footprint of just 9 square metres. Targeting short to medium runs, the Genius 52 offers also automatic plate changing as a guarantee for fast makeready and convenient one-man operation.

Digital offset with the 46 Karat

The 46 Karat DI press in format 36 x 46 cm on show at Embax Print will be demonstrated printing sophisticated calendar images and posters of Czech film star Marek Vasut, who will be on the stand in person to add his autograph. The Profire imaging heads from coop-eration partner Presstek permit a broader tonal range than comparable DI presses in this format class. The Czech and Slovakian Republics are already well represented on the list of 46 Karat presses in successful operation in many different countries.
