6.6.2006 / Jade Press snaps up the UK’s first KBA Performa 74.
Leeds / Dobruška / Jade Press, Leeds is buying the first KBA Performa 74 to be installed in the UK. It will add to the company’s existing KBA press, a Rapida 74 six colour installed only last year.
“We need another B2 press to support our Rapida which has been very successful indeed winning a lot of additional work from existing customers plus brand new business as well.” says Jade Press Managing Director, Darren Shepherd. “The Performa will replace a B3 Lithrone and tackle the shorter runs that we expect to result from recent Public Sector contract wins and support the projected increase in sales up to £3 million by the end of next year. We travelled to KBA Dresden to see the Performa test printing the same job as we originally gave the Rapida. It’s print quality was excellent! And then we were able to see the Performa in action again at Ipex to really confirm our decision ”
Jade Press, a family business founded in 1973, is currently a £2.25 million turnover business employing a staff of 33. The company’s manufacturing side is enhanced with Screen Trueflow ctp and a Tharsten SQL MIS system and a full array of print finishing kit also sourced at Ipex. Additionally a thriving print management business offers a diverse range of services to business customers across the country. These include data management, creative services, stock control, warehousing and distribution and bespoke e-commerce solutions.
KBA acquired Czech press manufacturer Grafitec in 2005 and Ipex 2006 saw the first UK showing of the new Performa 74 described as a high quality but affordable B2 press in sheet size 520 X 740 mm offering output of 13000 sheets per hour.
Available as two, four, five or six colour versions and with varying levels of automation the Performa 74 is a budget priced press that delivers an outstanding image.
