PERFORMA

Litera Brno with the KBA Performa 66-4 printing machine

The Litera printshop from Brno strengthened their production capacity in the final quarter of the last year with the new four-colour KBA Performa 66-4 printing machine of the SRA2 format. The Litera company has been investing purely in printing machines produced in Dobruška since 1994. At that time the printshop purchased a two-colour Polly 725 machine completed with a perfector. The machine has been reliably working up to the present day. The Litera owners as well as the company management particularly appreciate the good performance and price relation of the KBA-Grafitec printing machines. The Polly and Performa printing machines above all reliably cater for all the requirements resulting from the composition and character of the orders. “One of the advantages of the KBA-Grafitec printing machines is the guaranteed service and the spare parts available at a favourable price”, stated Vladislav Pokorný, MBA, the co-owner and director of the printshop.

Litera has been operating on the Czech polygraphic market since 1991. The important turning point which strengthened the economic independence of the printshop was in 1999 when the company moved to their own premises on Tábor street in Brno. One of the characteristics of the Litera printshop is the very large range of polygraphic production. “Most of our production consists of only colour prints. We do not turn any customer down and offer a full service. We also partially cooperate on required technologies”, said ing. Pokorný describing the printshop product profile.

The Grafitec printing machines allow the Litera company to print on various types of paper and foils. Litera printing includes mercantile production, magazines and books.  The structure of the orders mostly consists of leaflets, flyers, brochures, catalogues, circulates and calendars. The printshop is also famous for producing blank business forms, duplicating forms and stationery. Litera does not avoid printing minor public mercantile items such as business cards and New Year greeting cards. The printshop provides the finishing process and bookbinding most often with stitched V1 binding and glued V2 binding but can also handle other types of binding.

As stated by V. Pokorný, his company has been considering the purchase of the four-colour machine in the SRA2 format for quite a while now. The company co-owner confirmed that the selection of the KBA Performa 66-4 printing machine was influenced by the integration of Grafitec into the KBA group. “A strong, strategic investor and its prestige in our area means for us a definite guarantee that the Dobruška printing machines are of top quality”, stated Vladislav Pokorný. The choice of the Performa 66-4 printing machine was also influenced by the level of the service provided. The services provided by the KBA-Grafitec service team are evaluated by the Litera management in a very positive way. “KBA-Grafitec is capable of providing help from a service technician and the necessary spare parts within very short deadlines", stated the printshop director. The services are, according to the experience of the Litera printshop, ensured by the second day after making the request.

KBA-Grafitec supplied the Performa 66-4 printing machine to the Brno printshop at the beginning of October 2006. “The machine installation went smoothly and without any problems", said Mr. Pokorný while assessing the Performa 66-4 launch. The printers have been trained during installation and also in the first week of routine operation. The new printing machine has been quickly put into use in the two-shift operation. The four-colour machine of the SRA2 format fully complies with the order composition of the Brno printshop. The modern concept of the machine allows for the top quality printing. The Performa 66-4 was supplied to the Litera printshop in the complete standard fitting and with nearly all of the above standard functions.

The printer has available a GrafiControl panel from which the main functions of the machine can be operated included cocking. Ing. Pokorný had visited several operators of Performa 66-4 printing machines prior to signing the contract and received unambiguously positive references of the importance of the diagonal turning of the printing forms and for the SRA2 format concerning the print quality and speed of order processing. The printing machine is optimally set for data use from the pre-press in the CIP4 standard for the pre-setting of the inking units. Litera is capable of satisfying their clients in terms of quality, deadlines and print quantity with the new KBA Performa 66-4 printing machine. All the printing machines are operated by three printers.  The new Performa 66-4 printing machine is now being used in two shifts but the company intends to introduce a three shift regime in the near future.

The Litera printshop has premises on Tábor street No. 43a in Brno

Litera has customers not only from Brno and the nearby surroundings but also throughout the whole of the Czech Republic. The company reference list includes numerous prestige customers. The clients of the Litera printshop have the advantage of reliable print supplies for reasonable prices. The Litera company can afford to print for low prices set by agreement and also advantageous prices for the low volume offset press due to the effective operational parameters of the KBA-Grafitec printing machines and due to the low operational costs. “By purchasing the KBA Performa 66-4 printing machine, our printshop has become the provider of modern graphic art technology which allows us to address a wider circle of customers. Litera has attained a higher degree of quality with the new machine and the printshop is now able to offer a good quality press in full colour at an attractive price", to summarise the benefits of the investment of the Brno Litera printshop by the co-owner and director Vladislav Pokorný, MBA.
