PERFORMA

Another KBA Performa in USA

Newcastle, Maine, USA - KBA – North America has recently completed the installation of a Performa PE 74 - 4 at Lincoln County Publishing. The machine was sold by KBA - N.A. dealer, Graphics Equipment of Portland Maine and is the third machine of KBA-Grafitec production for this long standing customer.

Lincoln Co. Publishing has been operating since the 1850's and has been under the ownership of the Roberts family since the 1940's and is in the fourth generation of family ownership. Although the primary focus has always been Newspaper publishing, commercial printing is an important part of the business. Lincoln Co. Publishing installed their first Czech built printing press in 1975 and has installed many others since then. The first machine of Dobruska production was installed in 1998, a 266, and then a 466 in 2000. In August of this year a new KBA Performa PE 74 -4 was installed, making it their third Dobruska machine in current production. The machine was installed with a GrafiControl console with Techkon scanning densitometer and CIP4, semi-auto plate insertion with cocking, Inkdry I.R. drying system, Grafix powder spray system and auto wash of ink rollers and blankets. Current owner, Chris Roberts, based his decision to buy the new machine on a number of factors. The good success with his existing Grafitec machines insured that the machine quality would be up to his standard, the addition of automated features was important to add production capability and efficiency, and the recent merger of Grafitec into the KBA group adds to the confidence of not only the machine but with the company as a whole.
