September 2005 saw KBA-Grafitec launched on the North American market for the first time as part of the KBA group at the Print 05 exhibition in Chicago. The company exhibited the fully equipped KBA Performa 74-5+L which now functions in the Full Color Printing printshop in Las Vegas.

The printing machines from Dobruška have acquired a good position in recent years in the North American graphic arts industry market. In the USA and Canada, the Performa machines received the support of a strong sales team - KBA North America - after the integration of the Grafitec company into the KBA group of companies. The sale of the Performa 74-5+L printing machine from the exhibition in Chicago to Full Color Printing printshop in Las Vegas is an example of the cooperation between KBA-Grafitec and KBA North America. 

The installation of the five-colour printing machine with the varnishing unit in the SRB2 format was completed in November 2005. More than 2.2 million sheets have since been printed on the machine in the two month period. The Las Vegas printshop uses the new KBA Performa 74-5+L machine in a two shift operation, six days a week. The machine order contents are particularly comprised of advertising flyers and materials with a thickness of 0.35 mm. Multicoloured business cards form the major part of the production.

The Full Color Printing company was founded more than ten years ago. The printshop specializes in the commercial print and printing of light packaging materials. In addition to the KBA Performa 74-5 printing machine, the company also has available a four-colour A.B. Dick printing machine and a Ryobi machine with Direct Imaging technology. The Full Color Printing printshop also uses two machines with UV varnishing technology. The Full Color Printing company invested into purchasing the five-colour KBA Performa printing machine in the SRB2 format equipped with a varnishing tower which now allows the Las Vegas printshop to offer their clientele a quality print for commercial printing and to speed up order processing.

The KBA Performa 74 printing machine configuration offers a proven solution for all the construction parts of the machine. The owner of the Full Color Printing printshop in Las Vegas, Mr. Daniel Kerr required a printing machine equipped with the varnishing tower as the majority of his production requires high quality varnishing. The KBA-Grafitec company provides the high quality varnishing technology in their offer. KBA-Grafitec supplies the varnishing aggregate for the in-line improvement of the printing production through varnishing, which was constructed based on the principal of the chamber system with anilox roller. The varnishing unit offers the possibility of full or partial varnishing and is equipped with the automatic washing system while the extended delivery unit contains an efficient drying unit.

The installation example of the KBA Performa 74-5+L printing machine in the Full Color Printing printshop in Las Vegas proves that in less than one year since the integration of the Grafitec company into the group of KBA companies, the Performa 74 machines along with the Rapida 74, Rapida 74 G and 74 Karat machines form part of a regular product offer of the KBA sheet-fed machines in the SRB2 format that have managed to penetrate the USA market.
