PERFORMA
H&B Tisk Opava with KBA Performa 74-5 and 66-2 machines
The H&B Tisk company was founded in August 1989 as a two person partnership. It was the first privately owned printshop to be established in Opava where they started production with just one Grafopress. However, the company development is actually linked to the Dobruška printing machines. The owners transformed the company in 1997 into a joint stock company. Counting 43 employees, the company currently falls into the medium size group of graphic art companies. H&B Tisk extended their printing capacity with the KBA Performa 74-5 and KBA Performa 66-2 machines in the first half of this year. The first machine purchased in Dobruška in 1993 was the Polly 745. The printing machines have served reliably up to the present day and are still in a good technical condition after fourteen years of operation. The Director and the Chairman of the Board of the H&B Tisk joint stock company, Mr Zdeněk Bielák, said: “We are happy with the machine. Grafitec provides an operative service as required. The service care from Dobruška is perfect and the production company has certainly benefited from the merger with KBA."
The H&B Tisk company decided to enter the SRB2 format last year. Besides checking on the competition, the company also obtained further references regarding the KBA Performa 74 machines. “We were persuaded by the machine quality with the findings from the working experience of the Performa 74 machines. We chose the Performa 74-5 out of four competing offers“, stated Mr Mielák. The company also purchased a two-colour KBA Performa 66-2 machine. The installation of the new printing machines was exactly according to the contract. KBA-Grafitec handed over the two-colour machine in the SRA2 format to the printshop on 23 March. The H&B Tisk company received the five-colour of the SRB2 format on 21 June. “The installation of both machines took place without any problems. Grafitec always send assembly and service employees who know our printshop well. This fact contributed towards the fast installation of the new machines and allows for a good quality service", noted Zdeněk Bielák. The training of the operation staff for the Performa 74-5 machine took place during the installation attended by the printing instructor from KBA-Grafitec.
The printing plates are processed by the cooperating pre-press company in the CtP technology which is located close to the H&B Tisk printshop. The KBA Performa 74-5 printing machine is prepared for taking over data in the CIP4 standard from the pre-press and to utilize it for pre-setting the order parameters. The direct data communication between CtP in the pre-press company and the Performa 74-5 is under preparation. One of the basic product pillars of the H&B Tisk company is printing on folded packaging and the production of small boxes. The ability of the new Performa 74-5 to print on cardboard up to 0.6 mm thick with a surface weight of 450 g/m² allows the machine user to improve the quality of small box production. In addition to foldable boxes, the order structure also consists of labels, promotional material, posters, brochures as well as personal and business mercantile items. The printshop is equipped with the relevant machines and equipment for completing all types of production.
The H&B Tisk company focuses on prestige customers from North Moravia where the best known include, for example, Kofola Krnov. However, the company also prints for clients from the Czech Republic as well as from Slovakia. The printshop is located in a modernized building where the interior organisation as well as the appearance of the exterior indicates the responsibility towards the staff , a sense of the needs of the graphic art technologies and a sense of the architectonical solution. In the last few years, the H&B Tisk company has intensively invested into the buildings, printing machines and equipment used for the post-press. The new KBA Performa 74-5 and Performa 66-2 machines installed in the H&B Tisk company in the first half of this year will allow to improve the quality of the printing and help to extend the customer base.
