Communication between the MIS and production:

Information on the printing job from the selected JDF/JMF or PPF file (previews of individual colour separations, transmission functions etc.) is processed by the GrafiControl system and then used for presetting individual inking units and ducts.

The GrafiControl system allows:

• ·presetting printing machines (ink ducts, optionally ducts) on the basis of digital pre-press data transferred by the CIP4 technology
• setting printing machines by means of CIP4 technology for standard process colours (CMYK) and special customer colours
• modification of the presetting acquired from CIP4 data prior to the actual setting of the inking units and ducts
• presetting the machine for front and rear side printing according to the definition of the CIP4 data
• automatic centering of printing job
• automatic cropping if the preview exceeds the printing surface
• presetting of the printing machine according to the factory predefined or user‑defined curves

The use of user-defined curves allows:

• optimisation of the setting of the machine in view of the printed paper
• optimisation of the setting of each printing unit in view of its printing characteristics
• easy setting up of new correction curves with a name used in the processed CIP4 data
• creation and optimisation of user-defined curves on the basis of data acquired during previous orders
• use of one of five preselected sets of user-defined curves by simply pressing the corresponding key
• setting up of an unlimited number of sets of user-defined curves
• archiving sets of user-defined curves
